Help and resources for multi video recording

I basically want to record myself playing various parts - imagine doing a duet with yourself. I want to record the audio in my DAW (Luna Audio), mix the parts together, video me playing each part and syncing and editing the whole mess into a final video.

If anyone has software suggestions for a mac (ie. Final Cut Pro? Luna? Something else) and any workflow tips and tricks or resources to help me grok all this, I'd appreciate it.

If you’re using an iOS device like a phone or iPad, you can use the app Acapella. It’s actually pretty darn good software. I made a few videos myself using it where I played 4 parts. I am not sure that it would work with a computer.

The audio on my vids is not great because I used the device's mics, but I think it's possible to import audio. But you do have some mixing capabilities within the app.

Bill... here's probably the most elaborate thing I've done with multiple camera angles. I recorded the audio in my DAW, Studio One Professional... each audio take was also accompanied by a video take that itself had audio. I believe I had a total of 16-17 angles. I then brought the DAW Mixdown and the chopped up Video Clips into FCPX and let it Automatically Sync the Video Clips to the Mixdown track which it did perfectly the VERY first try.

I might add that its best if you keep as detailed a log as possible on what video take was with each audio take, which makes managing everything MUCH easier.

PS: I used a variety of cameras in this. 1-2 Logitech cameras, as well as the my too small iMac at the time and my Laptop, as well as phone cameras... Hence why managing everything becomes more important.

2. Mix the individual tracks in the DAW and export as a single mixdown.
3. bring the individual video clips into a program like Final Cut pro and sync them to the mixdown track

Thats pretty much it.

The GOOD Audio will be from your DAW, either with a Mic or DI, I mostly just Mic, and as a side note, because Headphones really fatigue my ears sometimes for days, I just listen to the track I'm recording to through the Studio Monitors WHILE I'm recording to it, and never notice a bleed.

The audio captured by the camera's it only used to accomplish a proper sync in FCPX... Once everything is brought into FC, then there's a tool in there that picks which Audio Source you want to use (DAW Mixdown) and then while switching camera angles the video will be the only thing that changes and the Audio will remain from the DAW.

My DAW is Reaper which handles video as well as audio. I have to sync the good sound manually to the camera sound (which I then ignore). I use a Logitech, a camcorder and a couple of old phones, so yes, housekeeping matters
