For John Prine

Post by Daniel Morris »

I was not aware of this until now, when we're all pulling for John Prine's recovery.
Also, first time I heard of Buddy Miller playing pedal steel.
Gorgeous song of John's. Gorgeous interpretation.

For truth's sake: the song was not written by John, but by Roly Salley.

Thanks, Joachim, and sorry for the oversight.
Didn't mean to post fake news; John did record it, but he didn't write it.

Nevermind Daniel. I just felt like making this correction.

I saw Robert Plant a few years ago with Patti Griffin on vocals. Darrell Scott played the steel. It appears to be the same LDG Buddy Miller played in this clip. In any event, I too had never seen Buddy Miller play the steel, but I really liked his playing. Darrell was good too.
