Western Swing Percussion Loops

Post by Regan Branch »

Anyone have good ones they can share with me? I use Propellerhead Reason, so of course .drex files are best but I'll take anything, I can work with it.

Thanks.

Congratulations on your purchase. If you don't mind, which package did you purchase; ProPAK, MegaPAK, UltraPAK, Ultra+PAK or Audiophile?

Don't forget this forum has a Band-in-a-Box section here: https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewforum.php?f=27

Also the Band-in-a-Box forum is very active. Search the PG Music forum some and you'll find another BiaB user provided a link to 750 song files.

Wow thanks I just bought the standard pro 2020 version. Not sure what the benefits of upgrading are or if it’s worth it.

Pro Edition Is Good

Post by Jim Fogle »

Hey Regan,

Is your computer operating system Mac or Windows? The reason I ask is my computer is Windows so I'm more familiar with how that version works than the Mac version.

The Pro PAK is a good choice to get started with Band-in-a-Box. I received the 2011 Pro PAK as a Christmas gift (from my wife) in 2012. The good news is the Band-in-a-Box program, and RealBand program if you have the Windows version, are the same for all the various packages.

The difference between the Pro, Mega and Ultra PAKs is the amount of content that is included in each package. What do I mean by content? That's my name for PG Music created RealTracks, midi SuperTracks, loops and styles.

Pro has the smallest amount of content. That worked out well for me. Since the program is the same with all packages you can concentrate on learning the program and features. Many users that start with another package never take time to learn the program or explore the features because their focus is the content.

Mega has about three times the content of Pro. That means the Mega PAK has about 40% of the available package content.

The Ultra PAK includes all the package content. The RealTracks are stored as wma files in Windows or mp4 files in Mac systems which are lossy, compressed files.

The Audiophile includes the same content as the Ultra PAK but include duplicate 16/44.1 lossless, uncompressed WAV / AIFF file formats in attention to the wma / mp4 files.

None of the packages include Xtra styles, current bonus content, video RealTrack sets or the Loop-with-Styles content.

I’m on Windows! Thanks for the clarification. I believe I’ll start using the vst version the most…
