Emmons SD-10 Push Pull

Post by Scott Swartz »

Up for sale is an Emmons SD10 with 4 pedals and 5 knee levers. The serial number is in the 6000s indicating 1983 or 1984 manufacture I believe. Overall the guitar is in excellent condition and needs nothing, it could go to a gig the same day the buyer receives it. I purchased this guitar from Steel Guitar Nashville in late 2006, and the guitar was set up by Mike Cass before it shipped out to me. Since that time it has only left my studio a couple times, I normally use splits and some other things available on all pull steels, so I have used it sparingly for recording but have never gigged with it.

The mica is the standard Emmons satin woodgrain, don’t know the official name, but it looks great. Cosmetically the guitar is excellent, I cannot find any marks in the mica at all, and the highly polished aluminum has a few small marks but is in great shape. Some of the pics have reflections of trees and such because its so polished.

Pickup is a George L E-66, and the tone pot, switch, and jack all work correctly.

Steel comes with what I believe is the original Emmons case, which is solid and in good shape except for one small area of tolex missing, see the pics.

The setup is shown in the chart below, its basically the standard ABC pedals with the addition of a “zero pedal” which is G# to G on strings 3 and 6. The left knee levers are located to be comfortable for home A and B pedals being actual pedals 2 and 3.

Steel sold to a forum member who drove quite a while to check it out. Hard to let a great sounding steel go, but it needs to be played. b0b donation just sent via paypal.
