Zum Encore

Post by Karen Sarkisian »

I recently picked up a used Zum Encore as a second guitar. It has the metal coating on it giving it a flat black finished look, and has the stock humbucker pickup in it. I cannot say enough positive things about this guitar. I've only had it a few days but it plays so easy and sounds so good I just had to post about it ! These guitars are without a doubt the best deal out there right now. I cant wait to use it on a gig. Its very precise, stays in tune, plays smooth and sounds great. Thanks to Doug for making a great guitar at an incredible price !

I agree completely Karen. I have had mine since March of this year. The more I play it,the more I like it! I have another great Pedal Steel, but spend most of the time on the Encore.

My new Encore just arrived two weeks ago. What a great guitar this is! My “old” guitar is a Sho~Bud Pro I that I bought new in 1974. This has been a great guitar, but has had its shortcomings. Keeping pedals and levers in tune was a major gripe, and the Encore is spot-on holding pitch. The splits are true, and I have noticed no hysterisis issues. Cabinet drop is present, but quite small. Certainly small enough to play around. I’m still adjusting to some unfamiliar nuances, but I’m definitely moving right in and finding a new home here.
Bruce and Doug have both put a lot of thought and experience into the design and construction of this instrument. The features this has, particularly at this price point, are astounding. It’s a real pleasure to play and I’d recommend one of these to anyone. But.....You’ll have to wait a bit :)
