I also have a Stringmaster, a 1955. What tuning are you using on that neck?

Sounds like top-third C6, which is what I have on my near neck too (technically the Jules C13). I'm a '57er as well. Mines a walnut one that has seen a lot of action and is a bit chewed up but it's a great guitar...really resonant, and I love the medium scale.
