Unfortunately, I'll be recovering from foot surgery, but this sounds great.

Hotels/Motels close to the venue

Post by John Eichleay »

I'm sorry Dan. As of now there are no hotel specials.

AirBnb or local motels are probably your best option. Here are a few ideas. Be sure to look on the map. Some of these are a few hundred feet away. Others are a mile or 2.

Local Hotels:
La Quinta Inn www.laquintabrooklyndowntown.com/
Brooklyn Motor Inn www.brooklynmotorinn.com/
Holiday Inn www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpress/hotels/us ... oteldetail
The Look Hotel www.lookhotels.com/
Hotel Le Bleu www.hotellebleu.com/
Fairfield Inn and Suites www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/nycbf-fa ... ba596febe2
Nu Hotel www.nuhotelbrooklyn.com/
Gowanus Inn & Yard www.choicehotels.com/new-york/brooklyn/ ... ource=gyxt

p.s. I cannot vouch for the Brooklyn Motor Inn or the Look Hotel. I have not been to either one. They are definitely the closest to the venue. The other hotels are nice. Good Luck! Hope to see you in June!

Hey John! Thank you for the follow up and the research. We definitely want to support this kind of music, especially in such a cool venue. Let's see if we can "swing it!"

As a beginner from Lake George in Adirondacks, I was wondering at unConvention what kind of networking and informational opportunities might be available concerning purchase of a pedal steel guitar, associating with pedal steel guitar players in my area, etc.etc.

Are there going to be any young steel guitar players playing at this festival? It would be nice to know the instrument is not dying. Is it all classic country? or is it todays bad music?

Dear friends,

Thank you for all your feedback.

-Roger: correction: "The Inaugural Steel Guitar unConvention 2018"

Ernest: There will not be an opportunity to buy instruments at our event but you could not ask for a better place to meet up, hang out, and interact with other local steel guitar enthusiasts.

Jonny: Raphael, Myk, and I will be there. We are all young, super hip, and devilishly good looking. I will personally be performing a mix of older "good" music and newer "bad" music. Steel Guitar Lives On!

Darn . I already booked gigs for June 1st and 2nd. I would've loved to have gone. If you decide to do it again next year, would it be possible to give more than 6 weeks notice? Thanks.
