Old Version
I have an older version of BiAB, from 2007. It has the Realdrums add on. I've never really worked with this software much, it's just been sitting around. I played with it a bit the other day, and most of the stuff I was doing sounded very unrealistic...kind of like a kid playing a toy instrument. Do I just need to upgrade or is there a way to get a decent very basic bg track out of this version?
GFI SM10 3/4, 1937 Gibson EH-150, 2 - Rondo SX Lap Steels and a Guyatone 6 String C6. Peavey 400 and a Roland 40 Amps. Behringer Reverb Pedal.

I believe most of your problem is the equipment you are using for playback. The sound card that comes in most computers is not adequate to get a good sound. The quality of your playback is very dependent on what it is being played back through.
Don't blame BIAB, you should be able to get a good sound out of the 2007 version.
