Feed Jake

Post by Randy Owens »

I'm wondering if any of our forum tab experts have tabbed "Feed Jake" for E9 10-string. It has some beautiful steel parts especially near the end. If you can direct me to a source, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

Randy,

Don't know if anyone ever tab those steel parts, but I have messed around with it some and you can get pretty close with just a couple of moves.

My favorite lick in this song is at 3:20.

Here is how I do it.

Seventh Fret strings 6 and 5 pedals down. Hit the 2 strings at the 7th fret. Hit them again at the 10th fret with pedals up. Once more at the 12th fret with pedal up. Squeeze A and B pedals to get the 4 chord and then hit the fourth string with the e string lowered and release it and then hit the first string and then the fourth open.

If this does not make any sense to you at all. Shoot me an email with your phone number and I will talk you through it.

You are spot on about the steel in this tune. Great playing and tone a good licks.

Hope this helps.

Yes, that does make sense! I'll give it a try when I do my evening practice. The song itself is one of those sad, crying songs and the steel just drives it home. Thanks a bunch for the pointers :)
