From now on, all Promat PSGs that are Standard Professional will be equipped with the new advanced changer. After four years of testing on an PROMAT PSG S-10 and on a PROMAT PSG D-10 in Spain, it has been proved that this advanced changer is operating flawlessly and boasts the following advantages:
- Friction is entirely eliminated between the AL finger and the pull rod on the changer.
- Torque momentum is entirely eliminated between the pull rod and the finger for tone elevation.
- In connection with this, it maintains an even support of the finger on the changer axle that reduces wear of the axle and eliminates the input of the
rotating movement on the tone quality, and the returning of the unit to it's start position.
-The spherical push joint that is placed at the end of the rod that lowers the tone, and leans onto the Al finger is being held in position on its entire surface in
all the positions of the Al finger, and this wasn't the characteristic of the previous Promat changers. Besides, the rocking of the stoppers has been
eliminated.
- It can not happen that the cam at the end of the stopper gets stuck in the hole on the Al finger, that used to happen quite often earlier. Musicians often were constrained to visit the repair shop for this trouble.
This will be used for all the future Promat PSGs, while the Economy type of PSGs will be still equipped with the standard changer.
Promat also works on the bell crank modification, that will guarantee symmetrical load force, while this was not the case with the solution used so far. Also, it will be lighter in weight, and easier to replace the bell crank, even the musician who plays the instrument will be able to do it.
Four years ago this problem was presented on the forum by Mr. Damir Besic 22.06.2012, on a discussion on a professional level, where Mr. Lynn Stafford also took part, on what I am grateful to him...

Very neat, I sure like the way the rod wires attach. Not having to go beside changer finger would be an asset.

yes, and I like the way push rod for lowers is done, more surface pushing on the finger at any time, means more vibrations transferring to changer finger and guitar, which can result in better tone...interesting...Henry Matthews wrote:Very neat, I sure like the way the rod wires attach.
