Eminence Quilter Custom 15”

Post by Peter Aho »

Hey,

anyone tried this speaker? Do you recommend it?

Is it different compared to EPS-15C?

Hi! Peter, I certainly like how this speaker performs in my Steelaire but can't say how it will sound in another cabinet. I would contact Quilter and ask them. I find they are very helpful and considerate. Best wishes.

Thanks for the info.

What I've read the EPS-15C has a copper voice coil and the Quilter 15" has a aluminium voice coil like the old JBL D-130 speaker. The quilter speaker is a bit lighter, not much just a bit, 7.7 lbs vs 7.9 lbs.

I'm going to order one!

I put the Quilter speaker in my Nashville 400 and its Amazing!!! The frequency response is incredibly clean from the lowest of lows to the highs, but never muddy or "ice picky" anywhere. It was by far the best mod or improvement I have made to my 400. I also use the same amp as my lead guitar rig and its the best sound I've ever had! Clean, full, balanced and warm! I'm very happy.
