March Steel Guitar Show in Branson

Post by Jeremiah Hanley »

Due to the mean tricks of winter, we have decided to move our Winter Show, (now Spring Show) to March 19-20. Thanks to Charlie, Rosemary, and Terry, we have a wonderful place to have our show, Stone Castle Hotel. We have an auditorium that can seat 400 and the hotel can accommodate a sizeable crowd. There's free parking and a free delicious breakfast to those staying in the hotel. We've had a lot of wonderful comments from those who have experienced our new found "home" for all the activities of the Ozark Steel Guitar Association. I'm sure Terry Bethel will have a good line-up of talent for all to enjoy. I hope it's early enough so you can plan an early spring vacation in Branson and be with us at this Ozark Steel Guitar Show. Call Stone Castle to book your room for this weekend of great steel guitar music, 417-335-4700. That date is March 19-20. I know our president, Steel Guitar Hall of Fame member, Terry Bethel, will welcome you with open arms to this spring event!

Moving the show to March sounds like a great idea. If you will remember, last year in Febuary Mike McGee and I could not get there because of ice.

I plan to be there too. I think it was a good idea to move the show to March I remember a couple years ago I had reservations and the show had to be cancelled. Looking forward to seeing everyone in March.

Charlie asked me if I would consider doing a seminar/class Saturday evening. It was an honor to be asked, and I have agreed to do so if, 1) there is any interest, and 2) if those who are interested would communicate what topics they want covered.

Time is getting close, so first, I need to see if there is any interest, and then, topics that would be of benefit. Feel free to post on this thread, or send me or Charlie a private message.

I'll do my best to try and help you advance, but if there is no interest or no topics submitted, I want to avoid wasting your time and mine.

THANKS!

Jack Musgrave has been over to my house twice getting ready for this show. Jack has a non pedal 3 neck Fender guitar, and he is extremely good at playing it. All original-Fender 3 neck guitar, Fender Vibrosonic amp, Bigsby Doo Wah pedal. Plus we got his big Bethel pedal steel singing. Jack has a lot of natural talent.

Rhonda, the web site is "Ozark Steel Guitar Association". The Association has two big shows each year. One in March and one in July. When it gets a little closer to March Terry Bethel will post a list of the invited players. It is 3 days of a variety of steel guitar players, with a great back-up band. It is not all instrumental music, as many singers perform with the steel players.
By the way Rhonda I have been listening to you sing Country Music on You Tube. You are a great singer. Wish I could play steel for you. Please come to the show.

Larry, I think Charlie had suggested $20/person. Charlie, please correct me if that is not correct.

That opportunity is almost good enough for me to give up my snow skiing trip to Lake Tahoe. If I had not already bought our airline tickets, I would be the first enrolled.

Rhonda, thanks so much for your interest in our shows here in Branson. I just talked with Terry Bethel, our president, and he said he would be thrilled if you could come and be a part of the March show or the July show. We would all really enjoy your singing and be honored to have you here. Let us know if you can be with us.
