WTB-- An electric guitar with floor pedals like on a PSG

Post by Andy Eder »

I am very interested in acquiring a 6 string electric guitar with a pedal system similar to the one that Phil Baugh used to play.

I would prefer a Telecaster but would consider almost anything. If anyone has one or knows where I might be able to get one, please let me know.

Thanks,
Andy Eder

i have seen a very simple unit that was hooked up to a tele. cant remember who made it, but it was passable.

Hi Bill,

It has been said that MSA built 25 more using Peavey guitars and they were locked up when MSA went into receivership never to be seen again from what I've found out so far.

I've been in touch with MSA and they said they didn't know anything about those other pedal guitars and could not help me with building one.

I have found a luthier who builds PSGs who asked me to send him pictures which you
just sent me.

Thank you,

I have boxes full of parts and a special prototype guitar that I've been working on(as time permits) for a year now. I got some good info from Jim Flynn on cables.

MacKenzie String Puller

Post by Andy Eder »

Gary,

I saw that at Summer NAMM a long time ago and tried it standing up. I didn't like it because the pedals were very stiff but it never occurred to me to sit down. Those guys were from Scotland if I remember correctly and I think I called them a while after the show and they told me they hadn't done anything with it due to lack of interest.

I'll have to see if I can find them.

Thanks,
Andy

I think that could be done simply with electronics and some servo motors .. similar to the auto tune on the Machine from Gibson .. I know a few people on the SGF have played around with servo motors to change tuning on a pedal steel .. something simpler with just a small cable from floor mounted POT's to control each servo motor .. some power routed from the floor pedal .. say a Midi cable to plug into the guitar similar to the Roland synth cable .. thoughts?

The decision on my quest for a pedal guitar.

b0b,

Thank you for overseeing the Forum.

Bottom line, I got the info I needed but not from the builder.

There is no approval when you buy a new instrument from him, if it doesn't work right, tough luck cause he won't take paypal or a credit card, or a return.

I'll wait for a professional quality pedal guitar which Jackson PSG is working on.

BTW, I never "ordered" a pedal guitar in any way from you know who, he just made one and expected me to buy it.

BTW, I will accept paypal.
