Can you name this fellow? He's known worldwide as a musician, just not on one of these...he's pretty darn good on the thing, though...

A picture of a picture for a man without a scanner...yes, this was taken in the days before the widespread use of digital cameras...

Really? I figured the moustache would give him away...here's a couple of hints:

1. He's better known for playing an instrument with 16 fewer strings than this one...

2. He used to hang around a lot with this fine man:

I saw/heard T. Michael several times with Doc & Merle Watson. Not only a great bass player, but if I remember correctly, he did a fine version of the song "Dig A Little Deeper In The Well".

T. Michael usually plays 5, doesn't he?
(Always thought he marked the nadir of the Scene)

It's been almost a year since Mike Auldrige left us.
Very sad. He went long before his time.

Agreed. Still miss him. I'd pick up the phone to ask him some kind of question or other several times a year. Still find myself reaching for the phone.
Almost did a couple weeks ago, when I did the Fallen Leaves thing. Of course if he WERE still here, he'd have laughed and said "it's been so long since I played it, I'd have to learn it off the record."
Miss him.
