Pay Pal & The Square Need input

Post by Dayna Wills »

I have a new CD coming out and I want to know how y'all feel ablout PayPal? Do you like it? If you don't have a PP acct. do they hold up your money before they transfer it to a bank acct?
The Square. Do any of y'all use this device on your smart phones to swipe credit cards? I will be traveling and I was wondering if the convenience is woth the cost?
Thanks

Dayna,
PayPal is great, but you will need to open a PayPal account. That is the only way you can get paid. The money goes into your PayPal account, then you just go online and request a move to your bank account. Takes a couple of days.

Square is great for credit cards. I use this at shows to sell product. It's easy and the money is in your bank in about 36-48 hours.

Both charge a very small handling fee, about 3%.

I use both PayPal and Square.

Easy and painless. Customers like the speed and convenience.

As a buyer, I hate PayPal. :x

It worked once for me and then after that I got nothing but error messages whenever I tried to buy something online.

PayPal "Here" is slightly cheaper than "Square". The Paypal Here charges 2.7% for each transaction, and the Square charges 2.75%.

I have both, and so far they work just the same, but I use the Paypal Here only cause it's slightly cheaper. I also have a PayPal Debit card, so as soon as a payment goes into my PayPal account I can spend it right then with the debit card, don't have to transfer it to bank account and wait days for it. Very handy when you need to sale some product to get a tank of gas to make it to the next gig.
