Wine Country Swing Demo Album Finished

Post by b0b »

I've finished mixing and mastering the Wine Country Swing demo CD. Until the actual CD is produced, you can hear and download MP3 files of all 14 tracks from my Soundcloud page:

I know I've posted some of these before, but the entire album has now been normalized and mastered so you might want to re-download them for your personal library.

The recordings were made in my garage studio. All of the steel parts were played on my 8 string Desert Rose pedal steel tuned to D6/G. I played through a Line6 PodXT for convenience and consistency instead of miking an amp.

Love this stuff! Makes me feel like I should be in a 1958 Chevy convertible somewhere on Route 66! Simple and uncluttered, tastefully done.

B0B, there's a saying that goes, "sometimes less is more"...this just makes ya want more, goes to show you don't need a bazillion instruments to make good music...this was great...I hadn't heard Little Green Valley since I was a kid, and not knowing any better, (causes I didn't know the words to it) played it for special music in church on an accordian...I'm not sure anyone else knew either...Dale :D :D :D

I have no ETA on the strings, Graham. They've been on backorder for months. I can't control or predict when they'll arrive.

The CD is now for sale, so I've disabled the free downloads. You can still listen to it online on SoundCloud, but you can't download it. To buy the CD, send $12 via PayPal to my email address quasar@b0b.com, or send a check to The Steel Guitar Forum at the address at the bottom of this page.

It's a home-made CD, so don't expect anything too fancy. :)

Very nicely done, b0b. One tune brings back a memory: When I was a kid, there was a crank-up Victrola and a 78 of Remington Ride at my Grandmother's house. Man, I just loved that record. I think it may have permanently warped my mind. I hadn't seen SoundCloud before -- nice interface.
