I just got this camera and these are my first videos with it. I secured the tripod to the steel around the 8th fret with masking tape.. It is jiggling and making noise every time I vibrato the notes.
BTW, I am playing my '67 Sho-Bud fingertip through a Boss echo into a VOX AC-15 TBX with a Celestion Blue speaker.
I hope this can help show some people that C6th pedal steel neck is easier to play than many think it is.
That's the one I just got last week (I put up a couple vids, too).
What I have found with it is that if you run everything thru a mixer, and go to the Zi8 External Mic input with the "Stereo Line-Out" from the board, you can make a pretty good "Direct" audio recording.
Leave the External Mic Gain level at it's default (50%). I have found this to be the best setting for avoiding the effects of the AGC (Auto-Gain-Control).
Going from a Headphone-out or other instrument-level signal, is too hot for that input.
Let me know if you come up with any cool tips you may find.

Danny: Nice C6th playing. I'd like to hear more. I would suggest you not attach the tripod/camera to the steel. The camera needs to be more stable. Also, I'd like to see the right hand as you play. The camera works well and appears to be a good purchase. Thanks for posting. Paul
Thanks Paul. It was just a quickie and I would like to do a lot more C6th videos in the near future. I just love the C6th neck with a passion and I hope to share that passion. Hopefully I'm not too enthusiastic about it.
