Rittenberry or Emmons LL2
Check out the two Steels side by side. Looks like Jodys playing thru a Nash. 400 and I Think that Bobbys playing thru a 112. Which is closer to the PP tone to you PP players? Both Great Players and Guitars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nj02QrqG8dc

Emmons Or A Ritt
Billy i am a emmons man and they sound good but all of them dont. I hear the Rittenberry is a nice guitar as well. I have never took one out and tried them. Jim

the two guitars
It was a pure pleasure and honor to set beside Jody.
I had just completed my set up on the Emmons with a couple of new pedals and knee levers on it and it was the first time I had played it. As usual, with a new set up, I got confused in a few places. Heck, I stay confused anyway on the simplest set up, let alone a new one. haha!
I think I may have had the Alumitone pick ups in the guitar at that time,,,not sure though. They were fine, but I replaced them with orignal Emmons single coils later. I'm just too used to the "growl" they have and to my old ears broght the LeGrand much closer to the Push Pull sound that I prefer.

Thanks for responding Bobby, That Emmons really did sound great on those Videos. You are one of the PP guys That I was hopeing would respond to my post. Not that the Rittenberry did not sound good also, just a different tone to my ear. It was a pleasure to have meet you a few years ago at the Okie Feast in Conroe Tx. Thanks. Billy

Just saw this post. Bobby sounds great on any guitar he plays! Because he plays from his heart, and it shows so much. It was my pleasure to play beside you, my friend.
The tone of the Ritt is different from an Emmons to my ears also on this video. I've been a push-pull guy most of my years of playing, and I love the push-pull tone, but I also love the Ritt tone as well; and the Ritt allows me more mechanical options with certain splits and so forth that I was lacking on the push-pull.
It's kind of like pie or beer...it's all good, but different! jc

push pull sound.....
When I posted my earlier comment I was in a rush.....so I need to clarify my point. Both guitars sound good in their own right but neither one sounds like a push pull. Jody is correct in that his Rittenberry gives him some options he would not have with a push pull.Push pull guitars have a distinct sound that can't be recreated but,in my opinion, there are some guitars that come close...such as the Zum Hybrid.
