Thanks Walter---I saw this whole show when it was broadcast. This great man influenced me to want to play steel guitar. I have a personally autographed 45 he gave me of "Faded Love". Last time I saw him was here in Enid, Okla at the Convention Hall and he passed away Around August 20, 1988.
Tanks for posting this----Jack

Leon was the "Father" of the Steel Guitar Rag, but in later years just about everyone (including Leon) adopted the Spade Cooley ending when it was recorded with Joaquin Murphy.

Years ago, I shared a gig with Don Helms. As we talked, he told me how his father took him to see Leon when they were near or in town. I too would go to see Leon when he would come to Tinker AFB's NCO club. He, like Bob White and Bobby Garrett, would write things on napkins in the coffee shop to teach me one thing or another. I will never forget them !!

Regards, Paul
