"Sweet Dreams Of You" Bishop R.P. Hall

Post by Bishop Ronnie P Hall »

Hello Again my fellow Steelers,
A few months ago, while listening to this always beautiful song by Don Gibson, and truly made famous by Patsy Cline, I felt moved make this family video while using an instrumental background created by me.
Now I know there are some very very talented musicians that can play circles around my abilities, but remember, for me this is a hobby! :? :) But anyway here it is, I hope somebody enjoys it? :\ :)

Ron,
Beautiful picking, beautiful rendition and a beautiful song. What else can I say, except, "Ya done yourself Proud." Thanks for sharing your Family Video with us. You can see the Love there. I agree, you are truly blessed. I've always heard that a man is handicapped, only as much as he allows himself to be. You are a Shining Example of that. Keep picking, and God Bless.

Thanks for sharing those photos of your family, Ron. You can count your blessings.

The way you played this is similar to the way I play lead on country recordings... I add in a lot of blues notes and create a sound which is half way between country and blues.

Keep 'em coming, Ron, it's great stuff. :D

Hi Guys! :D
I`m so sorry I have not had a chance to thank you fellows, for the very kind encouragement you gave through your comments concerning this renditon of a beautiful song written by Don Gibson. I realize the intent that he wrote it for, but I felt that the title had more of a positive message, hence the video.
And besides, I love Patsy Cline`s version. No one does it better :D ! Thanks Again!

Bishop Ronnie, I am always moved by the emotion in your phrasing. I know it's not something you have to think about, it just pours out. Wonderful pics of the family!

Hi bro. Clyde, (Mattocks)
Thanks for taking notice of the heartfelt stlye that I have been blessed with. During my life time of playing, I was`nt afforded the opportunity of learning the formal way of playing music, because it just was`nt available to most of the Sacred Steel players. We "all" pretty much learned to play by "ear", and "each" other, and also,in the various churches that we all attended. So I`m saying yes it comes from the heart, and deeply from the soul.
What you hear now, is 57 years of learning, and development,(for me anyway) of a style that came from that genre.
Enjoy! And Thanks Again!
