BIAB version 2010 now available...with special prices!!

Just thought I'd let everyone know that the 2010 version of BIAB is now available on the PG Music website. They have discounted introductory prices for the MegaPAK, the UltraPlusPAK, and the EverythingPAK. I ordered mine today and they'll be shipping the preloaded drives next week. If I understood correctly, apparently if you want to download, that can be done now.

I've tried the down loads in the past and it don't work very well.Very time consuming and not everything downloads.I'll spend the extra $5 and wait for the hard copies.

I didn't think to ask about availability of CDs/DVDs of the software. I suspect that may be available as well as the downloads. They did tell me that the harddrive copies were being built this week, and expected to ship next week.

I just just bought the 2009.5 UltraPAK
on a HD. I just called them to ask about
upgrading it, and they said they would
send me the upgrade package next week.
WOW! What a great company to deal with.
All I have to do now, is learn how to use it.

The hard drive Everything Pak is a great deal....just be sure to make backup copies of all the files and put them on DVD or ?, in case the drive crashes. I usually go with the DVD hard copies especially when upgrading. A virus corrupted some of my files, and reinstalling the 2009.5 update could only be accomplished by reinstalling the 2008 and 2009 prior versions.

Back up a lot, keep a spare copy somewhere safe. I may go with the hard drive this time, not sure, but probably will stick with the DVDs although the installation takes a little time.

I don't have BIAB yet. What is the big difference in the versions. IE..the $100 verses the $400 ...It's just me doing some jamming and can't see me ever wanting to use it for anything very serious such as in public. Is it likely I would be happy with the $100 version? Thanks in advance for any input. God Bless, Whip

Hi Whip, I have version 2006 and to me was useless. I never
even used it, because I didn't like the music it made a all.
I can't beleive how good the $400 one is. It's like a real band.
Just got the 2010 version, which has more, but haven't tried it yet.
PS:If you get it now, you'll get a nice discount too.

They say the real tracks take a lot less time to load. I was freezing everything because it took so long. Mine should arrive tomorrow. Good tip about backing everything up!

I talked to PGMusic about the 160 GB Hard Drive. They come with a 1 yr. warranty, and after that you have to pay for a replacement drive if something was to go wrong with it. I've had to replace several drives already. So what would be the most economical and Practical thing to do, Buy the pre-installed HD, or the 20+ DVD's? I hate to keep paying for something

Hey Eddie, I went to Walmart and got the Seagate FreeAgent Go HD.
It's a 320GB 2.5 inch Ext. hard drive. Only $79 and has a 5 yr. warranty.
Just copy BIAB to it and save one of them in case the other one fails.
I've had many hard drive failures, and replaced my C: drive last week.
Lucky, I at least kept a spare Drive with Windows Xp backed up on it.
I'm still trying to replace some of the programs that I lost this time.
Hope this helps you to decide.

I received the hard drive Tues and it wouldn't load.Called PG Music and they are sending me another.Should be here Mon.
I'm loading the entire program onto my PC hard drive and storing the original.

Thanks Carl and Papa for the suggestions. Seems like something always goes wrong when I'm trying to install something that large. That's why I was leaning toward the HD with BIAB already installed.

Still got a few days to think about it.

Was looking over some of the new features for BIAB 2010 and finally they added 2 more bars for the endings to fade out more gradually. Seems like they should have done that a long time ago and avoided a lot of people some real frustration......Eddie

Carl Kilmer beat me to it. Yup, I just bough half a terra byte for $79 at Staples. What I really really need now is the last issue of XP home on disks. Both of our laptops are so slow, I want to strip them to nothing and reload everything. I doubt they'll run Win 7.

Oh, on topic, I'll check this out. Sounds like a great product.

I just got BIAB 2010 Megapak- It's Awesome!! I love the real tracks. I've already sequenced over 20 songs. I've never been a fan of the standard MIDI accomp styles, but with real tracks it sounds great.
