This tune was posted to youtube by Basil Henriques and likely linked to here, but it sure bears re-posting.
Enjoy.

While you're at it, look at the column to the right. Hear songs like Maui Chimes... an education in harmonics

Jerry Byrd and Marty Robbins

:D :whoa:

Bent : Now you are delving into my memory archives of the past.. My number one man, Mr. Jerry byrd whom was my mentor for taking up the steel; one of my first songs " Song Of The Islands " which I learned from our man, Jerry. I once asked him what was the main thing to remember about learning to play a steel guitar. His answer to me was; Bernie, don't try to copy any steel guitar player; learn to play what you feel yourself, and put it to music.. I took those words to heart and played that way all my active years of performing. The only steel man I cared about sounding like; even just a little bit, was my man, Jerry Byrd . I always loved playing his version of " The Hawaiian War-chant " .A lively up-tempo song, as only he could play.. Thanks, Bent , for allowing me to relive these memories..Bernie :whoa: :whoa: :whoa:

Bernie, Right on! I will take that as a lesson also. We can learn some pretty valuable stuff if we only take the time to listen...
