This new pedal is without a doubt, the finest I have ever used and is unbelieveable. It only took me about 15 minutes to make up my mind. It is higher priced than other pedals, but believe me, it's in a class by itself and worth every penny. I am selling these through HWP. First, I am not an electronics expert by any means, but as I said this pedal, for my taste, is the finest I have ever used. It has a much cleaner tone, smoother action plus it has several settings for different tapers that regular pedals do not have. It has several different adjustments for cut off point, drag and so on. Now, I have nothing against other pedals on the market that are lower priced, but to me, this pedal is a notch above. I have always felt that every component in your chain has a bearing on the end result. You can have the best steel or amp on the market for example and lose your sound in the cable. Well, as to this volume pedal, I have personally compared it to the other popular brands which are less expensive, but I do hear a difference in the tone, not to mention all the other features it has.

I agree with Herby. These sound great. Plus they have a place where you can adjust your pickups impedance, a tuner output that has signal even if your volume is backed off all the way, an adjustment for minimum volume and a cool little light that shoots across your pedals.

The main thing is that the tone is so full and the pedal is instantly adjustable. The adjustments are like having a pot pedal and switching between a 250k pot, a 350k pot a 500k pot or a 1 meg pot. For example, the 250k would be an even sweep where the 1 meg would be more sensitive near the full volume position and turn up or down with less movement.

Terry, I had a Hilton and I sold it to go back to a pot pedal years ago. I haven't tried the latest version. I also have 2 Goodrich's and a Sho-Bud. (that's $500 right there!) My Hilton sounded a little thin and bright for my taste. The Hilton is probably just what the doctor ordered for some guitars. Since I have an Emmons push/pull and an Evans amp, I don't need bright.

If I had to describe the tone, I would say, it's full and clean with a flat frequency response. Like a pot pedal with a super clean preamp in front of it so that doesn't suck any highs when you back off the pedal. I hope this isn't confusing. Basically, it's pricey but a great thing to have. You can see the quality as soon as you open the box. I don't know if it was a mistake but they gave me 2 power supplies. Nice small power supplies... the kind that don't suck up 2 spaces on your power strip.

Mine is the low profile version and it's super low.

Herby....would like the opportunity to try one of these pedals out.....don't know of anyone around here who has one.....I don't think Buck does. I was at his house a week or so ago, and he didn't mention to me that he had one....I know he has a new G2. They are a bit pricey as has been mentioned, but I'm sure there must be something to it if you are an endorser. Hope I get to try one before long. I really do like my Hilton that I got from you some time back.......Keep in touch. HAL

I just got my mullen pedel at the steel show in Conn. from Herby after he was done playing. I thought I was nuts for paying so much for a pedal because I had a Hilten. Then after I got home, I played it. Wow! What a difference! It's great. Anybody want a Hilton? Robert Bird

I have one of these pedals that I bought at St. Louis this year.

Speaking for myself, I am tremendously pleased with it. I don't want to use any other pedal.

It costs a lot, plain and simple. I paid for it by selling music stuff that had been lying around unused for years.

Those of you who are understandably skeptical - I'd just suggest holding judgement until you can try one.
