Wayne "Animal" Turner Singin' in Houston!

Post by Danny Kirby »

I did this gig with Wayne Turner a while back in Houston and I wanted to share it with everyone. The great Dicky Overby was looking on and I have to say it made me a little nervous. Wayne was with Hank, Jr. for many years. It's been a very awesome experience working with this guy. He's one hell of a singer and lead guitar player. Enjoy!

Here's a Hank, Jr. song we did. What fun we had!

I'd say Dicky was in complete approval. Great stuff!

Believe me, I know what you mean Danny, but you have no reason to be nervous. You play beautifully. A little touch of Hughey in there? I love it! Say hello to Wayne, Country Jim and the gang for me. Dave

Dicky did say he enjoyed it. That was enough of a compliment for me. We don't have CDs yet. We should work on that. Yeah, there's a little Hughey in there. He was always my favorite. If any of you guys are in the Houston area, we're going to be at Blancos tonight. Animal will be there. We're gonna have some fun.

Jody, I plan on being at the next meeting in October. It's been too long for sure.

Danny,
I can only echo Stephen's comment. That was Real Country Music. Great singer, great band, and your Emmons really Honked. What else could you want.
