A practise session for Blue Velvet on my 1970 Emmons P/P

Post by basilh »

Also for ANYONE having problems posting SOUND files.. Well... This is the way 'round that. Put the soundtrack on a video of ANYTHING.. and upload it to YouTube.. Here's one I did earlier !

Blue Velvet

I am going to do a video of it as soon as I have it sorted out for correct positions.
It doesn't fall easily on the E9th tuning because it has so many sub dominant major sevenths in it, the positions are somewhat awkward in various sections.
I'm doing it primarily to demonstrate why the melody of a song needs to be followed fairly accurately.

OK For those of you who want to try it, here is a pdf of the chords, a midi file and a BIAB arrangement just to be going on with.
I know the bass SHOULD be '4 in the bar' but the inbuilt style would be more compatible to all who have BIAB.

I thought I'd include BAIB file for those who find it easier to work with than midi files.
The midi file HAS got the correct bass and the rest of the backing is pretty close, no vocal backing though, I haven't yet figured how to add audio to a midi file :? :?

Great sound Basil, I'm going to try that on a 6 string Lap, if you don't hear from me you will know I failed miserably.

James.
