S.I.T. String Sets Misslabled

Post by Steve Allison »

Has anyone noticed this. I have purchased the S.I.T
Buddy Emmons signature E9 stainless sets from 2 different vendors recentley, and the package still lists the .022 string as plain. Open the pack and guess what; the .022 is wound. Must be messing up at the factory. Just making everyone aware of this. Always liked these strings but tired of trying to find them with the plain .022!

That's funny you mention this. I was given several set of these exact strings by a guy who gave up pedal steel. In my set the packaging said the b string was .018 but inside there was .017.

Just talked to Tim @ S.I.T. and apparently 100 or so sets were messed up like this. He will send the plains to you if you need purchased one of these sets.

I grew up in the south burbs too but now live on the north side of the city. I haven't been down that way for 10 years, not sure what is still around.

I had a related problem last year with these strings.

In one batch the strings in the .026 packages were clearly a much thicker string. In another batch there were two .012s for string 1 but no .015 for string 2. SIT made right by it though; sent me several new correct sets. It's a hassle, but I like the strings enough to deal with it.

I had the same problem with juststrings.com , I got 6 sets of S.I.T. that were messed up...
and then was told by Just Strings that I had to call S.I.T. my self....
I did not like this but when I called S.I.T. they said no problem and sent me a doz. of each string i was missing.
Good service on a messed up product.

I have also had a couple of sets GHS SS that I buy here from b0b and have had the wrong strings in the envelope. Last 2 sets had the wrong 4 th string in it.
Is this a common occurrence? Greg
