My pal Don Burnham, leader of the SF western swing band Lost Weekend, wrote a catchy tune with a timely message entitled "Apple, Google, and Gold." Bobby Black plays some lovely steel guitar for your enjoyment on this vid. You can listen to it here.

I think it's a pretty cool song, given today's financial environment.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

I could be wrong but that looks like Paul Anastasio kicking the song off on fiddle. Paul's a great swing fiddler who worked Nashville in the 80's - 90's.

That is Paul Anastasio indeed. Great player and nice guy. I get to play a gig with him coming up the first part of January. He keeps me on my toes.

Ahhh......recording the old fashioned way, real musicians playing live. It really does still happen. Good tune too.
