Swingin' West- Mike Gross on FM and on lIne Sat 11-8
This Saturday’s (11-8-08) weekly edition of “Swingin’ West” can be heard from 2:00- 3:00 PM (eastern) on WVOF-FM (88.5) in Fairfield Connecticut and streams world wide on the Internet at www.swinginwest.com or www.wvof.org
The theme for this week’s show is a salute to Floyd Tillman. It opens with a Tillman salute by the National band of Texas, the River Road Boys and then goes on to a salute from today’s number one Western Swing CD by John England and the Western Swingers. There are Floyd Tillman memories from the recent Retta Christie CD, from 1964 by Floyd himself with Leon McAuliffe and the Cimarron Boys, from 1949 by Jimmy Wakely and Margaret Whiting and from the Last of the Breed, Ray Price, Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard.
There is a salute to the Florida Steel Guitar Club with member artists, Steel Guitarist/vocalist Don Sulesky, former Pee Wee King Golden West Cowboy, Roy Ayres and the talented Jack Stoner. There is also a Texas dance hall time from new CDs with singer, songwriter, guitarist Chuck Cusimano as well as Pop Wagner & the Twin Cities Playboys and Bill Foster.
The closing grouping goes back to our Floyd Tillman theme with the late Mike O’Daniel as well as Brady Bowen and Jean Prescott. .

How about another bump for Mike.
You can catch Mike live at the PSGA show this Sunday the 9th. He would be more than happy to talk to some of you Forumites and Swingin' West listeners.
Mike has had the honor of having many HOF awards given him from the Western Swing world.
Go out and see him and enjoy the PSGA show.
