Child Exploitation???

Post by Roger Shackelton »

Some parents exploit their kids for monetary reasons. Then the child is robbed of her chidhood. It's a shame.

Don't post much on the forum but the idea that fostering the exceptional talent of our children is somehow exploiting them is nuts!! JM

Roger
Maybe these parents are different. Let's just hope for the best.
This is the little girl that won the British Idol series. She is a natural..no formal training..how much training can a 6 yo have had anyway?....
To me it ain't creepy IF IT IS HANDLED RIGHT. Lets just hope she won't be another Jon Benet Ramsay.

in the Idol contest she sang Over the Rainbow so good that even the toughest judge - Simon- had a tear in his eye.

She is already ahead of Celine Dion IMHO so no contest there..

Let's hope the parents are sane; I have visions of Michael Jackson whenever I hear and see a kid like this.

It sounds as though it is absolutely soaked in pitch correction.

I was going to say that is incredible for a kid of that age until I read Stephen Gregory's post, stephen what do you hear or listen for with this pitch correction ?

Mabye we should just view this young lady who seems extremely happy, as being incredably tallanted and supproted by obviously very loving parents instead of assuming it's for financial gain and reading a bunch of just plain crap in to it.
I'd bet everyone would raise their glass if she were sitting behind a pedal steel.

I saw this little girl when she was on the tv show, unless the tv show was pitch corrected, then i think she is just a gem of a singer, and her mother was a lovely person,I think this little girl jus loves singin, and has no elusions of grandeur.I don't think she is affected as some kids can be,and that it was all in good fun, when she was beaten on the show"talent show" she was neither up nor down, she was all smiles,my bet is she is jus a great little performer with no ego,and that mom dosn't promote any ego, they seemed a well balanced family.Graham.

I heard many places that could use some pitch correction, I could not tell that there actually was any. I think she is a beautiful child that loves to sing and sounds pretty danged good doing it.

It's amazing that a girl that young can sing "I Will Always Love You". It's a hard song to sing, but hearing a young girl sing the song amazes me. She's singin' her heart out.
