This Saturday’s (9-27-08) weekly edition of “Swingin’ West” can be heard from 2:00- 3:00 PM (eastern) on WVOF-FM (88.5) in Fairfield Connecticut and simulcast world wide on the Internet at www.swinginwest.com or www.wvof.org
The theme for this week’s show is a Composer’s Corner Special. The show will open with three Fred Rose tunes by the combined talents of Curly Musgrave & Belinda Gail, Maryann Price and steel guitarist Jim Cohen. Then there are Pee Wee King compositions with steel player Buzz Evans, talented vocalist Ray Harrison with the late John Hughey playing steel and Bobby Atkins.
You will enjoy shortened Cindy Walker grouping with Houston’s Wild River Band and Austin’s Bobby Lueders Band borrowing from Bob Wills with Cindy’s great tunes. There is also a Texas dance hall time of Willie Nelson compositions with talented Bobby Flores, Wichita Falls’ Lone Star Troubadours and the great Johnny Bush.
There is so much more including a Western Concert of Bob Nolan compositions with Bad Bob Rohan, Colorado’s Flying W Wranglers and Robert Wagoner. The closing theme is done by Brady Bowen and his band.
