Hey JK,

I really enjoyed "Mountain Thyme New". I play banjo and you don't often hear it in an arrangement such as that. Cool!

Is that a Springfield S 10 in the pic?

Jonne,
I have heard many versions of this song, most a bit draggy and slow, so I thought I would Jazz it up a bit with a little bit of Bluegrass feel.

That is a Springfield S10 which I built 30 years ago.

Oh, and by the way, I also built the 1939 Hudson Coupe in the background.

The Hudson was once built in the UK, The first owner of this one was the Managing Director of the Bestfolda Pram Company, who bought it 2 months before the outbreak of WW2, then couldn't get fuel so put it in a garage where it stood for 20 years.

Always loved running across Tony's video's ... his playing, his tone and the movement he gets through the notes is always great.

This is from 15 years ago, I wonder if we still have Tony ... anyone know?

There are actually two different "Beulah Lands"
One is just "Beulah Land" and the other is "Sweet Beulah Land".
The later is the most recognized and was written by Squire Parsons. :D

Thanks for resurrecting this post,Kenny! Tone to die for. I've never seen a wrist lever like that, pretty cool. Sounds like its lowering one of the bottom strings. Can anyone shed some light on this? Inquiring minds want to know.😳

I was fortunate enough to play with Tony in a small church band for several years. He is a very talented musician.

Tony plays the Day setup. Years ago, Bill Sutton posted Tony’s setup on his Marlen.

This is, in part, what he wrote:

“He had 7 knee lever's and 1 wrist lever. His LKL Lowered the 6th string a whole tone. His inside LKR raised the E strings. His outside LKR lowered the 6th string 1/2 tone. His LKV Raise string 1 a whole tone and string 2. 1/2 tone. His RKR lowered the E strings. His RKL lowered string 2. 1/2 and then 1 whole tone. His inside RKL lowered string 5. 1/2 tone. His wrist lever lowered string 5 a whole tone.”
