Is this OUR Chris Scuggs?

I'm kinda hoping not, as it would be great to have 2 by that name playing steel, but if this is the one and the same/only, then that's OK too, as this is some awesome playing. Everything I've watched of him on YT is terrific, my kind of stuff!

And paired with Ashley Kingman just takes it over the top. Killer!

Go Chris Go!

yes, that's him.

Some months ago, on a Wednesday night, I had the pleasure of hearing Chris play pedal steel with a little group at Layla's Bluegrass Inn. Chuck Mead was doing the vocals and emcee work. And they had a Rockabilly guitar player. And drums and bass.

Really entertaining night of music.

I had come to Nashville with friends that night to see Hank III and Reverend Horton Heat at the Cannery Ballroom. But it was sold out, so I suggested we hit up Broadway. I had a way better time there than I probably would have had for the Cannery Row show. (Though Hank III has a great steel player, Andy Gibson). I've seen Andy play with Ike Johnson and the Roadhouse Rangers.

I wish to be lucky like you and catch him somewhere besides youtube.
There aren't too many steelers around that I'd like to see and hear as much as this cat.
Glad someone is doing the Speedy Kayton thang so well and putting big smiles on faces.
I need more!
