New Branson Internet TV Show
We've just started shooting a new internet TV show for http://bransonwebtv.com. There's a lot of good ol' country, cajun music, and Western Swing. We also have a different special guest every week. I'll be playing on these, and you'll hear a lot of steel. I'm playing my new Mullen G2, so if you want to hear one in action check out the TV show.
We tape a new show every Wensday night @ 11:00PM at the God and Country Theater on Hwy. 76. The taping is free, and if you like what you see, we do a morning show Mon-Sat at 10:00AM. Check us out, it's Wade Benson Landry's Swingin' Cajun Style Show.

Hi Tyler
Hey Buddy,
Told you you were great. You couldn't be playing with a better bunch of guys. Be up the 25th to catch you live and visit. Save a little E9 for old country ears like mine.

I haven't got to see the show yet, I have been to a family reunion in Boston Mass. I am currently in St. Louis where Miss Lana and I are preparing a steelradio.com show for this saturday night at 8:00 P.M.
I know everyone in the band and I know Tyler is playing his butt off.
I guess I will have to go down and see the show at the God and Country Theater in Branson, MO.
So everybody listen to Miss Lana and Me, and then drive to Branson and see Tyler Hall at the God and Country Theater and then come back to Branson for the Ozark Steel Guitar Association Super Event, July 25th / 27th.
It might be cheaper to stay in Branson, anyway see you there,

Tyler, happy to see a great player, and a great person, like yourself get a T.V. Show. Wade Landry is a great musician, and great entertainer. Wade played fiddle on the CD I did 2 years ago. Wade is a good friend. Tyler, I want you to make a copy of this and give it to Wade. Message to Wade: Today I was watching the Penny Gilley Show on T.V. The band consisted of great impressive players. Problem was, they were all playing at once. No one was taking parts, and this made everything sound like a jumble. The dictionary definition of jumble is: "To mix in a confused, disorderly heap." None of the musicians wanted to be caught not playing, even though the best thing a musician can play, at times, is nothing. Getting caught doing nothing might lead the producer to thinking the musician needed replaced.
I played on the Branson Shows for 20 years, 5 years 6 nights a week at one Show. I couldn't handled that jumble nowdays, it would drive me up the wall as a steel player. The band on the Gene William T.V. Show is a jumble, just like Penny Gilley's band. It would sound so much better if the musicians took parts, instead of playing all at once. But I know the musicians have little to say about the final result, good or bad. To make matters worse, the Penny Gilley show has two keyboard players, both playing all at once. Too many key board players learned to play in church and don't have any idea what taking parts means. Then there is the drummer, with a big plastic shield around his $10,000.00 drum set. He probably has at least $5,000.00 worth of cymbols, and he intends on using every one of them.
Listen to traditional country music and you don't hear cymbols crashing. If I were running the show, the plastic shield would go, and so would all the drums except--Bass, high hat, and snare. Most of the singers are so into their great voice, there is no room for a comedian. A slight comic break would do wonders for their wonderful vocals. Tell Wade to not play everything 90 miles an hour. Also, tell Wade 98% of traditonal country music on the radio had E9th steel, not C6th--like it or not. Hope Wade is not trying to turn everything into "Swing". Just my opinon--but what do I know.

Tyler, you are really a credit to the steel guitar image. I think you have an amazing talent for putting in the most tasteful and original interpretations and voicings I have heard in years. I hope I get to see more of your shows live. Maybe some of the guys attending the Branson Steel Show this year can get down to the theater and hear this great show. It's only about a mile from either show location on those 3 days.

Thanks Hank! I'll deal with you next weekend. Maybe I can help you tune.
I sure do appreciate all the kind words. Rick, it's not so much a unique interpretation as it is just being lost a lot. I'll see what I can do about a solo. And Keith, I'll be MORE THAN HAPPY to relay your message! We think a lot alike.
Tommorrow night Clay Cooper is going to be on the show. Clay is a great singer and has a very good show. Be sure to tune in...
