New SGF Feature: Upload Picture

Post by b0b »

I've added image hosting to the Steel Guitar Forum. You will see an "Upload Picture" button in the message editor. You can upload pictures into your posts or into your private messages.

The upload dialog is a pop-up window. You'll have to allow popups from steelguitarforum.com to use the feature.

Images that are too large are resized to a maximum width of 740 pixels. A watermark that says "SteelGuitarForum.com" is added to all images. If you don't want the watermark, you'll have to use a different site to host your images.

Please use the "Testing" section of the forum to test the feature, and use the "Forum Feedback" section for technical support questions.

I think this is a major improvement. It took me a few weeks to get it working to my satisfaction. My sincere thanks to the beta test group for their feedback.

ernie was just testing, 640x 480 is larger than the box so I will make mine smaller, but what size do we use to stay in the space alloted ?????
B0B how about band width using pictures , that is why I always used a link to save space on the forum.

The pictures are resized if they are too big.

You can insert the picture as a link if you want, for optional viewing by people with slow connections. Bandwidth at the server side isn't an issue. We have plenty.

New Feature

Post by Al Marcus »

b0b-That is a good feature for so many members. I tried one but the picture was apparently too big, and your program doesn't automatically re-size if it is over the maximum. A smaller picture apparently worked ok...thanks, I will be sending my annual donation soon.....al.:):)

Doug- Yes, it'ws a good looking sho-bud , nice sounding too , playes good with all the 6 pedals and 5 knee levers. I would have liked to have that nice S10 PP Emmons that you have.
