Randy Beavers at the ISGC 2004 in the Zum room

Post by Ted Tonjes »

A beautiful played 'You don't know me' by Randy Beavers.
I hope Randy doesn't mind that I've posted this one.
We video taped it during the ISGC 2004 in the Zum room.
I believe that Bruce is sitting next to him.

Enjoy it!!

Randy, Your playing is hard to believe. Its "out if this world", as my mom used to say.
I just read today in another thread what you had said about Buddy Emmons' influence on you early on, and I keep thinking about that as I listened to you play in this video. And the same sincerity you talked about in Buddy's playing was all over your playing as well. I couldn't tell you where I've heard better live, E9 steel playing in a long, long time. Thanks, Don McClellan

I've taken this video off MySpace

Post by Ted Tonjes »

I've taken both video's off my personal 'MySpace'.
My apologies to both players as I just wanted to share these with other steelguitar fans.
If the players give me permission afterall I will put them back on.
Meanwhile I've got permission from both.

Hi Randy,

Thanks for giving me the permission to put it on MySpace.
I only recently compiled the DVD.
I'm sure everybody will enjoy to watch it.
Coming August I will bring you a DVD with this piece on it.
We plan to come to St. Louis this year again.
Hope to see and hear you there.

Sincerely,

Ted

Great to read that Randy gave permission to post this video , what exquisite playing . Personally I have seen more steel players in the last few months than I have seen all my life , and there will be many just like me over this side of the Atlantic..... MMMM ? Maybe there isn't ? Oh no its maybe just me, Im all alone.
Ah, I but jest .
Thanks to every one who gives permission for them to be viewed and those who take the time to post them, and also to those who post themselves , it is not only entertaining but also a great learning resource.
I dont watch as much TV now !

On this video Ted Tonjes is playing my Promat guitar, he had never seen or played this guitar before, so Ted is also a hack of a player, he’s one of the best here in Holland!
