I guess I'm too old a foagie to say that anybody's Myspace is great. To me, there is way too much crap and corruption on most sites, flashing pictures, lots of animation, so much stuff you can't find the "meat".
To me, the simpler the better.
And many sites show the option of "downloading" a song (when you eventually find it through all the crap), it doesn't work.
I'm talking generally here about Myspace, not any one particular space. Geo |

I thought this stuff was lame, but everyone here uses it for networking. I'm sure it's all an evil plot to steal our indentities. |

I think Chris has the right idea. Success or failure on MySpace depends on the number of of your "Friends"
If everyone on here added all the other posters to their fiends, we would all benefit.
My music barely touches the edge of Country- though you can hear some non pedal steel on " I Love the South" so if anyone from here would like to join the illustrious company on my Friends list, you can hear it on http://www.myspace.com/darowynmusic
If you have already posted your Myspace on here and you get an invitation from an English fellow called Darowyn, it's me.
Cheers
Dave
PS. I have it on good authority that if you have 30,000 friends and a good site, you are likely to start getting offers from record companies.

Hi Cliff,
I don't think Stompin' Tom is on there yet. For some reason, Stompin' Tom doesn't strike me as a computer type. ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars

Hi,
My band has a page at www.myspace.com/minibar
myspace is cool but it's oversaturated now - the search engines don't work well so it's hard to navigate. Too many bands see it as a popularity contest, you really need to pick your friends carefully and target bands that are similar to you. Labels are paying attention to it - Interscope even started a Label with Myspace - it will be interesting to see how it pans out.
Cheers, Tim |
