I was in time copying the website to my harddisk. Works great.
Graham: I hope you don't have aproblem with that, just for personnal use.

Hi, Marco. No problem with that at all. That was the intent of the site in the first place, that fellas could download clips and listen to them at their leisure. I have transposed all the clips to mp3 format, which would also allow for those with the software to slow them down if they were having trouble with one. The problem I am having, is having them open and play if the user is using Netscape. Works fine with IE but they won't open with Netscape, at least with version 4.6 which I have. Perhaps somebody using a newer version of Netscape will try the link above and let me know whether the clip opened or not.

Why not pool the talent on these forusm, get comittments from qualified individuals to co-host, co-maintain, and have the background of experience to either write or at least review the tab for quality before adding it to the site.

Or, if money rather than time is the issue, put a password on the site, and receive a nominal annual fee for access just to maintain the site.

Many of my clients do not realize what it takes to keep a website up. Maybe we should post the monthly maintenance costs for:

connectivity
off-site hosting
database integration

web page construction knowledge:
asp java javascript html css odbc SQL MYSQL perl cgi php html graphics audio embedding TCP/IP
FTP etc., etc.etc.

Then those who are comitted to the process can manage the site. Graham or Jeff or Ricky could just do the management or coordination of the on going elements of maintenance, and if necessary delegate web design features to those who comitted to maintain the site.

Just a thought.

Money is a touchy subject with an endevor like this. The songs are owned by others.
I'm surprized the "Suits" didn't close it a long time ago by legal threats. I've seen that happen to many MIDI sites.

It's true that most of the songs are long out-of-print, but they're still owned by someone.

Graham has been paying for this site out of his own pocket. I thank him for that. If there was a user fee involved there's a good chance the owners of the songs would not look the other way.

There are far too few of us who tabbed songs for this site. If it gets rebuilt I hope everyone that can will tab at least one sample.

This resource should not be allowed to die!

You have done a great job making this available to the new younger players and even a good resource for older players.

If it is money, I will donate to help the cause. At least it should be Archived as is, and available.

As a former Guitar teacher , I know how important this resource is for players attempting to learn or upgrade their playing.

I have visited the site a few times and Graham and Ricky have done a fantastic job.
How about us getting together and keeping it going?.......al

Rest assured, the site won't die! It will come back better than it was. MP3s' as opposed to Real Audio.

To all who have responded both here and by email, I thank you. This is not about money, I don't ask for it and I don't want it. Thanks anyway. As Joey mentioned, I would love to have some volunteers well schooled in writing tab to submit any they feel they would like to do. That would lift a considerable weight from the shoulders of Ricky and Jeff, who have done a bang up job up to this point. The site would be nothing without their input and of course, all the others who have contributed.

b0b emailed me and asked if I would like to sell the sight. At this time, no. If the time ever comes that I want to walk away from it, b0b can have it, free of charge.

So, thanks again guys and I will let you know when the site is going back up. The changeover to mp3 will take some time.
