Jeff, bars with a flat spot (sometimes called a "sitar bar") were a known thing in the '60s and '70s, when that instrument sound was used frequently in rock and pop music. However, I discounted that because the 5th string sounds unaffected. Hard to say with 100% certainty without having first-hand knowledge, but that was my best deduction from the sound of the recording.Jeff Peterson wrote:Boy! This is fun...Donny, I agree with you, bar pressure. And Paul, go easy on me but it seems a little extravagant to use a bar with an 1/8 inch flat on it...even if I had ever seen one.
Is this the sound this guy was looking for?
