Jerry from what I can figure it is about 185 miles give or take about 10 to 15 miles. If it is two hundred miles it should take you about a 3 hour ride.It is about 30 miles West of of I-95 on State Road 42.I live on State Road 42 and I'm 42 mile from I 95 and I'm 15 miles west of where the Gold N Pawn is located.I'm going to the Greeneville TN Steel Jam which is 430 miles from where I live. That is another Steel Jam that Anna and I started 5 years ago.Hope you can make this one.Anna and I will be going to Wilson N.C.to hear Ray Walker play Steel Guitar a week from this Wed. and I will tell you exactly how far it is from I-95 to where the Gold N Pawn is on SR. 42.OK when you are coming south on I 95 in North Carolina get off at exit 116 West and follow SR 42 for about 30 miles to the Gold N Pawn.

Here we are back to add two more Steel Players that are going to try to make it.One is Dave Nugent from VA. and the other one is Jimmy Underwood who plays Fiddle Steel and Lead Guitar in the Road House Ramblers Band with Ray Walker on Steel. What a Pro Band they are.I can see this is going to be a great Steel Jam.

Howdy look at the list of names I have of guys that say they will be at the Jam. If you are not coming let me know so I can get things lined up for this Steel Guitar Jam.Bring your tracks and you can play with them as it will be tracks first and then we will do a round robin. If we have more time we can go back to tracks or keep on doing round robin. It will be up to all the steel players. We have a band and from what I understand Jimmy Underwood is going to bring his Lead guitar Fiddle and his Steel. This is going to be a great time.If it works out the way I think it is going to be we will do it again soon.

Hey Ricky we were hoping to hear you play. That will be fine if you come for a while and see some old friends. Hey bring your bar and picks and play my steel while you are there. We will start the Jam at 12:00 noon so you will have some time to visit with us.

The Jam will be here before you know it.It is just seven weeks away and it will creep up on you and will be gone before you know it.We are working on how we are going to set it up this time as we are going to have 18 Steel players and a band .Jimmy Underwood is bringing his Fiddle Lead guitar and steel and we are going to have a ball. The fun of this Jam is there is no organization and every thing goes smooth as silk.Might have to get a bigger hall for the next one which will be around the beginning of March or so.I might try to run one twice a year as long as my health says the way it is.Three months from now I'll be hitting the 3/4 of a century mark.

We are about a month away from a great time and a great Steel Guitar Jam in Clayton N.C..I have decided that we will run a 50/50 and give it to George to pay for the electric we use. I had a donation can there last time and we got about 30 to 35 dollars. I think we can do better than that for George after all he is letting us use his place for nothing.
Hope to see you all there.

Hey Jerry Hayes if you are coming to my Clayton Jam when you come down I-95 in North Carolina you will get off at Exit 116 West that is route 42 west then you will go 30 miles to the Gold N Pawn which is on the right after you cross a Rail Road track and take a sharp right onto route 70 and still 42.

Hey Sam... looks like this is shaping up to be a good time for all. As I indicated to you on the phone...I have a show to play that night over at Becky's log cabin...so I will have to play early and leave a little early. Sorry for the inconvenience but you know how it goes...gotta work sometimes. I am playing there the 10th with Eric Strickland and the Besiders and again on the 24th with the Roadhouse Ramblers. I have been fortunate to be playing with threee great bands right now and staying busy but I don't get a lot of time to play with my friends at these steel jams...so this will be a treat for me.
