bump for Charles and the GREAT service he is providing..
Rock on Charles
thanks

oh and yes, shamelessly, I sent a new song file to Charles . I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry, part of my GOING IN REVERSE Tour. Addressing the Classic tunes with a modern approach. Oh, and I am not actually on a Going In Reverse Tour, it's only in my mind.

I just heard Bill Hatcher's "Am I that easy to forget" and it sounded like excellent playing to me. Very nice. I am hearing more and more real Professional sounding recordings, on Tilley' site..al.:)

I just listened to Fred Welch"s "In the Garden", again, and was very impressed with the feeling and faultless execution of it. He is playing a Wood Lacquer MSA Universal XL S12. He really gets a nice tone out of it. Way to go Fred. When are you putting up another song? ...al.:)

Thank you so much Al. That was done on a lap steel using the Leavitt tuning. A compliment from you means a lot to me.Al Marcus wrote:I just heard Bill Hatcher's "Am I that easy to forget" and it sounded like excellent playing to me. Very nice. I just downloaded and heard Roy Ayres"Till I can make it on my own". Very nicely done as usual..
Charles Tilley's "I will always love you", using a nice Professional background, great tone with feeling.
Russ Tkac's "yesterday" the old beatles song. sounded very good on that Non Pedal tuning.
Tilley's site is really getting some nice recordings on it by the players.. Thanks Charles for setting up this nice feature on the Steel Guitar Forum....al.:):)

My new song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"
Our good friend Charles Tilley just put on my new song for February on his Website. "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".
I just recorded it last night in one take, mistakes and all. (I did play it through once before I decided to try and record it).
But what's a few mistakes among friends? LOL.
Again it is great to hear all the guys playing that we read their posts on the Forum. A big Thanks to Charles Tilley for starting all this!....al.:):).

John-Thanks, I appreciate your kind comments to this old guy. I wish I had time to download every song, but I am on Dial-up and it takes a long time for each one.
Thanks again to Charles Tilley who is responsible for letting us all hear each other play....al.:)

My Computer crashed about three weeks ago. Have been using my grandson's which i didn't like, to many bells and whistle's. Any way got a IBM this time, Hope it last longer than the Dell I had.
I have now listened to almost everyone on Tilley's site.
So many styles and sounds and every one is amazing.
You are all great. Its a joy to hear some many good steelers. If I had to pick a favorite though, It would have to be my friend Fred Justice. His tone and playing knocked me out.

Doug-I heard both your E6 and A11 version on "Cold Cold heart". Very nice. Nice bass playing too. I see you must have a tone control on that guitar and used it like we used to in the old days...al.:)
