Once again Jay Dee just proves why he is such a great steel player. He is so clean and smooth and his tone is great as well. This year at the Texas show he put on a fantastic show. Jay Dee is just another steel player I could sit down and watch him play for hours. Thanks Jay Dee for giving permission for these videos to be posted here on the forum and thanks David for posting it.

I know that a "rite-of-passage" when it comes to all things pedal steel, be it here on the Forum or out in the world, is having at least passing knowledge of the concept that: Nothing sounds like an old Emmons - especially if it's black!.
Without hearing them in an A/B comparison - I couldn't tell you - but in place of his familiar Emmons, that new MSA sounds pretty sweet with Jay Dee behind it!

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro.

I did not realize he picked up that guitar at this years TSGA Jamboree. Jay Dee sounded great that Saturday night and man he played just fantastic. You top that off with Jay Dee being a down to earth kind of guy and you cannot ask for much more. He is one of those steel players that I could sit down and listen to for hours.
