Hi again. This is the short video. I need some info on this steel guitar.. It has a lot of history..Built for Jimmy C Day in the 60's. Bought by Vic E. here in the UK recently, and he's brought it over mine for me to set up... Any history info and/or set up info would be very much appreciated although I had it playing sweet after an hour. I just dont understand the mechanism..ALSO..watch out for a new video I will be posting next week!! It will be HOT.. I have the best UK lead guitarist coming over here to record a video for you all. Me and him on a very fast picking instrumental...All will be revealed next week if it all goes OK...I can't wait to post it for you all. Thanking you in anticipation of any replies to this video..Regards, David H. HERE's THE LINK..

Hi David. That Sho-Bud looks to me like what is called the finger tip mechanism. I'm not a 100% sure but it seems like I read where that type is a permanant set up and cannot be changed very easily. You would want to contact Bobbe Seymour at Steel Guitar Nashville...he has a good many Sho-Buds of that type in his store. Also, I want to tell you what a fabulous job you did on the Orange Blossom Special on YouTube. I am working on some speed pickin and listening to you play is a great help to me. Take care and keep up the good work. John

Dave, I don't know about the Jimmy Day steel but the other Sho-Bud is one of my old ones. The pad, I made from a piece of cloth given to me by a guy that makes coach seats.

Hi Dave

Yes, we gathered that! We call it the Eastern Counties Bus Pad.. It used to belong to someone called KEITH before the Keith White as it has the name on the front with stickers which has left a mark on the varnish..Thanks for your reply, David

Like I said in a previous post it is a permanent and not a fingertip. I have a fingertip. The changer is the permanent design.
