River Road Boys RADIO SALUTE on 24/7 on line
The June edition of the recorded continuous airing of "Swingin' West" has just come up on the Internet on twangtownusa.com. It will be on 24 hours a day seven days a week, over and over, for the entire month.
The theme for this month, June, is a tribute to the National Band of Texas, The River Road Boys. Because of time limitations you will only hear a set devoted to five of the current seven River Road Boys members. However, cuts with all of them will be heard throughout the show.
You will hear the groups interesting recordings as well as current members in their own sets recording with the legends such as Steel guitarist Herb Remington with Bob Wills, bass player Harlan Kubos with Johnny Bush and Hank Thompson and group leader Clyde Brewer with Leon McAuliffe and the Cimarron Boys.
You can also enjoy Herb from his recent CD with Steel guitarist Rick Alexander. He also is heard from a 1984 album on which his son Mark is on vocal with River Road Boys Tommy Howser and Clyde Brewer a part of the band. Tommy and Clyde are also heard on band member Bill Dessens’ award winning CD. Bill is heard playing steel on cuts with both Leon Pappy Selph and Jim Gough. Another interesting cut comes from an album that band members Clyde and Shelly Lee Alley Jr. did with their sons to salute Shelly’s dad and Clyde’s step dad, the legendary Shelly Lee Alley. You can also hear current band vocalist Jim Johnson on vocal with the River Road Boys back in 1983 on his first tour of duty with this historic band. There are many other interesting and enjoyable cuts of music.
The recorded edition of "Swingin' West" can always be heard by clicking the mouse on the appropriate spot on the bottom of the home page of the "Swingin' West" web site, www.swinginwest.com
Thank You!
