Video Clips On YouTube

Post by Rick Alexander »

I uploaded a few videos of Steel Guitar instrumentals to YouTube a while back,
and I started getting emails asking questions about various techniques, rudiments etc.
So I've been answering the questions partly in return emails, but mostly with video clips.

It's great to know there are young guys out there who are into learning to play Steel Guitar.

I also have some videos on MySpace, as well as some songs - http://myspace.com/rickalexander

More songs and videos can also be found on my web site - http://rickalexander.com/BigSteel

Hi Larry

I think it is about time to hear some clips of steel guitars, from Arizona.
This means you Larry.
Jack Francis just got his new Desert Rose.It will be a while before we hear him play.
Back to you Larry.I would love to hear you put a clip on the forum.I don't want to have to fly from Texas to Larry Strawn Arizona to make a clip,But I will. This forum Deserves a little music from Arizona.
How's that for a friend pulling for you???

Good point Bill - I for one would love to hear that!

I found that placing the camera above the guitar aiming down at it is an excellent angle for showing techniques and tricks. I feel certain that's the main reason I've been getting such great response from new guys and ol' pros too - they can see exactly what I'm doing.

As Herb Remington once said: "You can learn something from anybody" - so the more players that post "how-to" video clips of tips, tricks hot licks etc., the better!

I have over 50 videos on YouTube now - about 12 songs and the rest are tutorial clips. I sure don't know everything though, not even close - but collectively we do.
