Nice work from a Rolla boy :) . I was in Rolla at the same time you were (1945-1965). I also new Austin Woods. I don't know if we met then. Maybe I could meet you on a trip back there one of these days.

Thanks to all for the kind words.
Stan, I have spent a lot of time in TX county, roaming the Natl forest in the Paddy Creek area.
Rockne, I did not receive a request from you. I received one from a JD Parker. When I went to the provided link, there was no request.
Charles, I remember the name "Alex Pompe". I want to think that he was associated with the Rolla Daily News. Yes, I hope we can meet someday. I did not mention in the bio that I played lead guitar in some dance/Jazz bands around Rolla .... Gene Mitchell, Richard Moore and Ernie Hayes, aka Buddy Hayes (before he started playing organ at Busch Stadium). I graduated from Rolla high in 1955, where I lettered in Baseball.

John, I guess we were "neighbors" & didn't know it; I graduated Houston High 1955, and Ernie Hayes was a classmate, altho a couple years ahead; another classmate was a Deryl Daugherty (a relative of yours??). From there went to KC where I played Lead guitar in some bars & clubs for awhile, then to Gospel groups in St Louis, then Tennessee, on to Florida ... 8)

John, the page is really great and thanks for putting it up.

I especially enjoyed Anita's Song Tribute, that is some beautiful playing - the word "eloquent" comes to mind, and I also appreciated the photo of Anita and Pete while I was listening.
