It was good to hear that song again. It looks like Weldon Myrick on steel and yes he is one fabulous player.

Yes, Weldon, certainly, and the rest of the Opry band at that time. Kudos to Hoot Hester on fiddle and of course the inimitable Gene Watson!

I think "Farewell Party" will be one of those songs that will be remembered forever in country music....

Great as usual; I was watching a couple others on YouTube of his, Farewell Party "Live", and Nothing Sure Looks Good on You "live". Also great; does anybody know who the steel player was on those? Apparently was a regular in his band at the time.
