I was watching Jay Leno last night and Alan Jackson was on.He had the entire band with him, but Robbie wasn't there. They were doing song's from his latest album,"Red on a Rose",which IMHO, I feel is the worst recording he has ever done.I asked for the CD at Christmas,my 16 yr. old daughter bought it for me.We listened to through one time, and it's layed on my desk ever since. She didn't even like it,and she like's a variety of music as I do as well. But ,if I buy a CD by AJ, you expect to hear a steel guitar and a fiddle.I'm really disappointed in his latest project. Is Robbie still with him ? Shocked

Yeah, he was there. Stage right. Barely visible behind the guitar player and others. I didn't see a steel set up, he was playing slide on a big archtop. I think he did a twin part with the guitar player on the intro and maybe t/a.
I only caught a glimpse of him a few times.

I felt the same as you at first...he was nearly buried behind AJ's "posse" but he was there.

Well Ron, you had to look really close and quick to see him behind the 9 or 10 others on stage.
I only caught fleeting glimpses of him as I heard slide work, I remembered it was in the studio cut and was searching for the source.

I'm sorry to hear the latest CD effort was a disappointment. We could always count on AJ to keep it close to country. Of course they are free to do whatever they want, but I hope this isn't a harbinger of things to come.

BTW, I really enjoy Robbie's playing. He plays slide really well and I think he plays guitar too and no telling what else.

I hope it wasn't intentional and it was probably the camera angles and their normal stage arrangement, but he was just nearly invisible back there.
