Bob Wills Vocalists on Internet continuously

Post by Mike Gross »

The April edition of the recorded continuous airing of "Swingin' West" has just come up on the Internet on twangtownusa.com. It will be on 24 hours a day seven days a week, over and over, for the entire month.

The theme for this month, April, is Part II of “They All Sang for Bob.” More vocalists of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys after their days with Bob Wills. You will hear legendary names such as Leon McAuliffe, Joe Frank Ferguson, Johnny Gimble and Bob Lee.

You will also hear some of Bob’s female vocalists Evelyn McKinney, Darla Daret and Bob’s great bassist and vocalist Louie Rowe after their years with Bob.

Also heard are brothers Luke and Billy Jack as well as Keith Coleman, Jimmie Widener, Harley Huggins and so many others. You will also hear some of Bob’s session vocalists (not official Texas Playboys) in days after their Wills sessions. Johnny Preston is heard with former Wills guitarist Billy Carter, Carolina Cotton with the Tex Williams band, Mel Tillis and the Statesiders from a rare Western Swing album and an all grown up Darrell Glenn.

The recorded edition of "Swingin' West" can always be heard by clicking the mouse on the appropriate spot on the bottom of the home page of the "Swingin' West" web site, www.swinginwest.com

Thank You!

Mike, I'd like to tune in but it uses "Real Player"
which is invasive.
Everytime I have used it it has planted an unwanted .exe file in my msconfig file.

Blake,

Thanks so very much for your interest. Unfortunately, www.twangtownusa.com which sends out my recorded shows only uses Real Player. I have heard that complaint from others and I am sure it is justified. I don't have a problem on my computer and many others don't either, However, I totally understand your feelings. Please feel free to come on by Friday afternoons and listen to my live show which does not use Real Player.

Blake, I don't like Real Player either. Real Alternative is what I use. I'm listening to Swingin' West' with it as I type this. You can download it here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video ... ve.cfm[url]
or just do a Google search for it.

Nice simple clean install and it works well for Real media.
