I don't mean to be rude, but the duplication of existing posts without additional, meaningful content simply bloats the Forum database, slowing down keyword searches and the like.

Computers are not infinite resources. We saw how the old Forum software collapsed under its own weight. I'm sure this system will survive for a long time, but I'd rather fill the search tables with new posts than add the old ones over and over.

I want to express my thanks to Rick Alexander for building such a wonderful website for me. My friends and loved one's both past and present make me feel so proud. I have had numerous compliments regarding Rick's website and have sent it to my friends at Fender,those that are no longer active with Fender and those from the past will always have a place in my heart. The Fret's of Life is a powerful story and I thank Maryanne Miano for her comments, and all of you forum members who have particpated in a great tribute to me. My family and Loved one's whom I am so proud of, will have something to remember me by.

"The Last Fender Guitar" is in it's final stages of being released, time after time, I have promised this to those of you who expressed interest. I can assure those of you who have requested this book will be pleasantly suprised as to the stories and help offered by my co-writer Sandy Miller. It is going to happen this time and with the help of Sandy I have been back on my feet and we will get this book out withing a short time.

Al thanks, I haven't done much playing in a long time, but i still love the music. That was done at home with a 12 string excell universal about twenty years ago it was a B6th tuning.Recorded on my four track reel to real Teac.Idon't play out anymore but i just started playing at home again. I love the music & it keeps me in a good mood. Al thanks again.

As a pilot, you know that the pilot navigates and flies to his destination with the assistance of many. I am happy that Sandy Miller and many others are assisting you in reaching your destination.

Hank, after all the many years we have known one another, your comments are always those of a friendship and has lasted since both you and I were both raised in the same neighborhood of Brooklyn and spent much time at Ebbets Field watching our beloved Brooklyn Dodgers,It will be nice to see you again soon and perhaps we can work somethings out doing twin steel with your Texas Panhandle Band and I can do some karaoke in your studio as I did back a few years ago, when to my suprise you had a copy of one of Marilyn's favorite things I did, "Cause we've Ended as Lovers". Not to worry about your barber and old friend of mine, I can always have my daughter Lorrie cut your hair.Your recordings with your late brother Sonny should be heard by those who enjoy the roots of country music.Perhaps Mike Gross can assist and play some of your enjoyable music recorded those many years ago.

for too long, but the past few years have bogged me down. I have in the words learned something from a Forum friend JoeMcHam who like yourself was a pilot and that is....Quote There are 3 things that are no good to you.. the runway behind you, the gas in the tank that has been used, and the altitude above you. If this makes some kind of sense, Unquote" Since I have never been a pilot, and don't intend to be, I can only offer my theory as to JoeMcHams "quote"
and that is, I am 77 years old, and my theory is You Dont STOP Playing Because You Get Old, You Get Old because You stop Playing!!!

Ron, in my haste to post what I have. I have to apologize for my comment as to you "once being a pilot". I know all to well,that to this day, you still have your license to fly an aircraft, be it your own Cessna, or those commercial jets 727, 767, DC 10 American Airlines Airbus etc. I will be flying out to the west coast to visit Don Randall come this April and we will discuss that when you are here.

Hank,I think we will need a 16 track recorder, as I would like to re-record the Hawiian LP on to cd, I have made contact with Loki Ontai and Tanuin Makua and they will be happy to re-cord or over dub their parts, on the my Hawaiian "Thats The Hawaiian In Me"

In view of the fact, that I was so pleased with the praise from Captain Ron Brennan and my pal from our hometown of Brooklyn N.Y. I had forgotten the most important person helping me with my book "The Last Fender Guitar" It is a buddy from years back and she too was from Brooklyn, her expertise in helping me correct my grammer and spelling, and moreseo offering her advice, I would have never been able to get as far as I have with my book.My late wife Marilyn's wish
is that I would write a book on my life with Fender and I have had much help from Sandy more than I could ever express in this post. It was Sandy who enouraged me to release "The Hot Club Of America" and it was she
who has kept me from quitting this project which means
so very much to me.Sandy has surely made my family and my late wife if she were here to know my dream is about to come true, Marilyn would be proud, so speaking on her behalf.I thank you as well as Marie, Han's Carl, Greg, Jen, Lorrie and of course, Casey

There are many who look in at what is going on at the worlds most popular place to see and learn from those who are beginners as well as the pro's on this Forum.
Look at what it takes to become a member, if you are inclined to feel as though, you classify yourself as a
so called "bedroom" steel player, I don't beleive that should hold anyone back. You've all heard the story of The Shot Heard Around The World. Well coming very soon (I hope) We will be hearing about the GUITAR HEARD ROUND THE WORLD. It's called "The Last Fender Guitar", and I for one just can't wait ! The FENDER sales rep who was there is the man to pull the trigger on this gun. A man who I am so proud to call my friend, "The Knight Of Fender Tweed", Mr. Jody Carver. Jody was there when it happened, so this is a FIRST person account of history in the making. Not second hand heresay. When Leo Fender put the final touches on that first guitar that carried his name,, little could he know the lasting impact that it would have on the music world. From the north pole to the south pole, the far east to the far west, from country music to the classics, music was touched and changed for the better.
Knowing Jody as I do, he has a burning desire to get this information written down for posterity. not for his own benefit but because he was proud to be a part of the history of FENDER. This book has been years in the making. Jody lived it every day from the beginning.
Any history of the guitar, and music in general would be incomplete without the story of Fender. I know that as a former Fender handyman so to speak, (I worked on Fender guitars as a youth). I have a hunger for the knowledge of this fine instrument. Jody Carver is the man to fill that void in my knowledge base.. I for one, cannot wait to read the story of FENDER, The guitar heard round the WORLD !
