Curly on YouTube

Post by Cartwright Thompson »

Just a little heads-up.
There's tons of Chalker on YouTube.
Here's a good one:

Do a search for the Wilburn Bros and you'll find a pile of it.

Curley's Setup

Post by Jim Saunders »

Curley appears to have the necks reversed. C6 on top?

Nice. I've been collecting pedal steel videos on YouTube for a while. These will make a nice addition to the collection.

If you browse with Mozilla FireFox, you can install an extension called "Video Downloader" and follow the instructions for saving YouTube videos. I don't know how to do it through IE or Netscape.

Once you download and install Vdownloader it's just a simple matter of choosing what video format you want in preferences then just copying and pasting the url from the YouTube page and then clicking on the download button.

Does anyone know if the Wilburn Bros Show videos are available for sale? I would love to have a "boxed set" of these; I enjoy their singing and the band plus there is Curly in the background. What's not to like?

I use Mozilla FireFox browser, rather than Internet Explorer. Then there's an extension you can add. I think it's called Ook. When you're on a page with embedded content, like a YouTube video, you can click on the Ook and it will ask where you want to save the file. You can then open the file for viewing later. I use Media Player Classic for that. You can download Media Player Classic for free. It's a small file and will play anything the big media player will - but it does a better job.

Did Chalker ever use reverb? His C6 technique is so percussive, almost staccato, reverb would probably just muddy things up.
